2014 Alemany Awards Celebration - May 10, 2014
Joseph Sadoc Alemany, Dominican friar and pioneer, was ordained Bishop of Monterey in 1850, and appointed first Archbishop of San Francisco in 1853. Attentive to the needs of the people of California, he called upon his fellow Dominicans to serve in preaching, teaching and parochial ministries.
