How to Apply

MTS Admission Requirements

  1. Completed application form, and application fee.
  2. Official Transcripts from all previous college work.
  3. Statement of Academic Purpose – applicants must provide a 1-2 page summary of their goals and study interests in the MTS program. It should include the following information:
    • their type of professional experience, and its relevance to program interests;
    • how developing skills for interpretation of ideas and texts will benefit current and future goals for their professional lives;
    • possibilities for the Capstone Project
  4. Letters of Recommendation – 3 letters of recommendation must be submitted. At least one must come from someone with direct supervisory knowledge of the applicant. Each recommender should comment on the following:
    • the professional experience of the applicant;
    • the quality of the work, with specific examples where possible;
    • the relevance and/or usefulness of the MTS degree for the work of the applicant.
  5. A Sample of Professional Work - demonstrating a knowledge of and capacity for project planning.
  6. On-site Interview - All applications are pre-screened by the MTS program director. Those applicants with suitable qualifications are then invited to interview with the director. Favorable applicants are then forwarded by the program director to the DSPT Admissions Committee for a final decision
  7. TOEFL – Required of all students for whom English is not their first language
