  • When You Come to the Fork in the Road, Take It! St. Thomas Aquinas & DSPT at the Intersection of Philosophy and Theology

The mission statement of DSPT states that “the School draws its students into the rich tradition of classical philosophy and Catholic theology, especially as exemplified by St. Thomas Aquinas, and from this tradition engages contemporary scholarship and culture in mutual enrichment.” Why should the work of St. Thomas Aquinas be of interest to us today? • Remarks on the Lineamenta for the Synod on the New Evangelization

I found this document to be inspiring in many ways – although it is rather general. However, in the interest of time, what follows is a list of critiques, without being balanced by praise (which the document also deserves). I have five points to make. • Notes from the General Chapter of the Order of Preachers

September 20, 2010As a member of the faculty of DSPT, it has been a great privilege to be able to participate in the General Chapter of the Order of Preachers as a delegate. I have met many exemplary friars from around the world, including those who are involved in research and teaching in philosophy, theology, and other areas -- all of whom are very gracious despite all the work we have to do.
