Areas of Concentration

An important tool which allows each student to individually tailor their program of learning to align more closely with personal academic and research goals.

Students may choose the DSPT MA (Theology) [MATh]  program which emphasizes the relationship between philosophy & theology and between tradition and contemporary culture, or the GTU MA program which provides ecumenical and interreligious learning opportunities.

All students in a DSPT MATheology (MATh) program, GTU MA program, or Concurrent MAPh/MATh (or GTU MA) program must choose an area of concentration at the time of application to DSPT. The specific area is determined in part by the student's personal interest and in part by the program of study. In all cases, the area draws upon resources of both DSPT and the wider GTU community. DSPT areas of concentration differ, however, in that they focus more exclusively upon the skills, interests, and resources of DSPT Faculty.
