Dr. Marga Vega recently joined DSPT as a full-time member of the Philosophy Department. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in Philosophy in Spain. During her Ph.D., she collaborated with the Music Department of the University of Valladolid in the creation of a research group, Interdisciplinary Seminar for Music and Philosophy (SITEM), that organized four conferences and started the publication Music and Philosophy. She has worked at the University of California, Berkeley as a Lecturer and teaching assistant in courses on Ancient Philosophy (Alan Code), Philosophy of Mind (John Searle), Philosophy of Language (John Seale), and Philosophy of Science (Paul Skokowski). She is currently part of the Seminar of Social Philosophy at UCB that in 2008 organized the 6th International Conference on Collective Intentionality in Berkeley.
The Aquinas Lecture is an annual event in which the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology faculty nominates a scholar to offer a paper in which the teaching and method of St. Thomas Aquinas is applied to issues of contemporary significance.
