The Dedication of the Blackfriars Gallery & Library on the Feast of St. Albert the Great

On the Feast of St. Albert the Great, patron of DSPT, the School invited friends and benefactors of the Blackfriars Gallery & Library to join us for the Dedication of the Blackfriars Gallery & Library, followed by a thank you reception.

The gathering afforded the opportunity to bring to conclusion a nearly decade-long process of transferring the assets of the Santa Fe Institute (formerly known as the Liturgy in Santa Fe) to DSPT. This collection of art and books specializing in religion and the arts was begun by Fr. Blase Schauer and developed by Fr. Michael Morris. 

In honor of Fr. Blase Schauer and Fr. Michael Morris, a commemorative plaque was commissioned and blest at the dedication. After the blessing it was brought into the library while the friars sang the Salve Regina. The plaque and photos of these two friars will serve as ongoing reminders of their important efforts to this ministry.
