From the Professor

I am a friar of the Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus (Western USA) of the Order of Preachers. I am also a cooperator brother, that is, a Dominican brother who is not called to priestly ministry.

In 2016, I completed a Ph.D. in Physics, with a concentration in experimental astrophysics at UC Santa Barbara. My research was in Ben Mazin's lab, using MKID detectors for infrared and visible wavelength astronomy. My dissertation project focused on scaling up the system that reads data out of a MKID camera and also on using the camera to observe pulsars in visible wavelengths.

With this background I am interested in connecting the Aristotelian-Thomist philosophy of nature to contemporary science, in philosophy of physics, and also in natural theology.
